NAVIGATING THE CLOUD

Cloud computing has changed the game for many small businesses, allowing access to a range of an array of services that were previously unthinkable for small teams.  Anyone who has a smartphone has a cloud service somewhere.  Cloud services have a number of benefits, including:

Self-service provisioning

Small businesses are able to access services and set them up without complex installations and need for consultants.

Elasticity

Companies can scale up as computing needs increase and scale down again as demands decrease.

Pay per use

Compute resources are measured at a granular level, allowing businesses to pay only for the resources and workloads they use.

Cloud services tend to be very specific in focus, with less functionality but with much better automation and workflow.  They also tend to be more responsive, that is they let you know what is happening in real time.  In business that is a big advantage.

While cloud services are often designed to work together, they are often not designed to work with internal services.   That means there can be some wrinkles to iron out but that is what we are here for.

Some great services we work with:

  • Office 365
  • Google Docs
  • Dropbox
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
